It's been Arts Week in school this week. Our theme has been Local History and we've had lots of fun learning about Clog Dancing, Lancashire Dialect, and about the illustrious past of our community. We've visited the Museum of Science and Industry, spent time on a canal barge and toured Astley Mining Museum. Everyone has produced clay artwork and, working with local artist Ian Edmondson, we have made a piece of whole-school art that we will exhibit at Leigh's Turnpike Gallery.
Please have a look at our photographs...
The school football team recently competed in the LOGOs football tournament, staged at Wigan Soccerdome. Unfortunately, for the second year in succession the team was knocked out at the quarter final stage. The event was the showcase for the unveiling of our new football strip, very kindly sponsored by Bubbles and Dreams Bathroom and Tiles of Leigh. Many thanks to them for their generosity. The squad looked resplendent in the school colours.
