• Evening of Music and Dance

  Our annual Evening of Music and Dance proved to be one of the best ever with children from Years Three to Six entertaining a packed hall with singing, music, gymnastics and dance. Well done to everyone who took part! Thanks also to our parents for supporting the event, and to our hardworking staff - particularly Mrs Burns, who organised the evening.

• World Book Day 2017

  World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and - most importantly - it’s a celebration of reading. Today, on the 20th anniversary of World Book Day, Gilded Hollins showed how much we all enjoy reading and shared the fantastic stories and characters that entertain us. 

   

  All pupils and staff had a great day and many classes were visited by school governors who shared some of their favourite books. 

   

   

   

  

• A well deserved party!

  Year 5 celebrated their fantastic reading achievements by having a 'Superclass' party today.

   

  They played some classic party games and enjoyed a dance and some party treats. Well done Year 5 for working so hard to win 'Sleigh ride to Santa'. 

  

• A morning at Frankie and Benny's

  Year 3 had a great trip to Frankie and Benny's, making pizzas, to end their 'Why do people go to the Mediterranean on holiday?' topic.

   

  The children's behaviour was, as is the norm with them, perfect. They represented Gilded Hollins wonderfully and were a credit to themselves and the school.

   

  The pizzas weren't bad either!

  

• Key 103 Mission Christmas

  Thanks to your generosity in providing donations instead of exchanging Christmas Cards, we have been able to buy a selection of toys to be distributed by Santa's elves to less fortunate children across the north west. Many thanks for all your kindness.

  A huge thank and well done to everyone who took part in our recent sponsored spell on behalf of the NSPCC. We managed to raise an incredible £2,059.14! Rebecca, from the charity, came along to say 'Thank You' at a special assembly.

  Our annual 'Eggs Factor' competition produced (as ever!) a very high standard of entries. Our judges spent hours deliberating, but finally came up with a winner and runner-up from each class. Well done to everyone who took part.

  

• Easter Bunny Bingo Tuesday 22nd March

  Eyes Down - If you know your ‘Two Little Ducks’ from your ‘Key of the Door’, there’s a school event coming up that you’re sure to enjoy. On the evening

  of Tuesday 22^nd March, we will be hosting our popular Easter Bunny Bingo in the school hall. Organised by The Friends of Gilded Hollins to help raise money for the school, the event is one of our most popular in the school calendar and it gives all the family a chance to enjoy a few games of bingo whilst having the chance to win a whole host of prizes. The event starts at 7pm (doors open at 6.30pm) and children, parents, grandparents, friends and all others are invited to get your eyes down. The event is free to enter and bingo tickets are £1 on the door; bingo dabbers are also available to purchase. Light refreshments will be available on the night - we look forward to seeing you there!
