Houses of Parliament
As it plays such a vital role in lawmaking, we have been sketching the finer details of the Houses of Parliament!
To teach us about how the police operate, Mr Donnelly visited us from Greater Manchester Police. We had our fingerprints taken, learnt the police caution and even arrested a shoplifter; can you guess who?
As part of our 'Animals and their Habitats' unit, we visited Chester Zoo where we had a conservation workshop and free time to learn more about vulnerable and endangered animals!
Well Being Week
To promote physical, social and mental well being in school, Year 4 have been busy partaking in a range of activities. They included a sponsored walk, School Games Day, yoga, Zumba and making our own ice lollies from fresh fruit. What a great week!
Y4 Vs Parents
What an awesome Friday night! The Year 4 children (and Mr Taylor) played football against the parents resulting in a 4-4 draw. Thank you to all the parents who played and stayed behind to support the children!
Our Year 4 Town Sports team were an absolute credit to themselves, their parents and school. Preet (3rd) and Lucy (1st) bagged medals in the throwing whilst Lucy qualified for next week's 80m sprint final.
Year 4 ended their year's brass tuition in style with some great pieces including Eye of the Tiger and a rendition of Wonderwall by Oasis!
As part of Russian Week, Mrs Halton helped us design and create our own Faberge Eggs!
We visited the Manchester Police Museum and re-created a court case where Isabella was sentenced to death, for theft!
Our Arts Week this year was based on the theme of storytelling. Our activities included Shakespearean drama, making dream jars, self portraits, Japanese style dot art and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed dancing!
Using our shells from our trip to Barnstondale, we've been looking at improving our shading and mark-making when sketching!
Carroll and Venn Diagrams
We've been using Carroll and Venn diagrams to classify plants and animals!

River Mersey Art

In French, we used our imagination and sentence building to describe an alien from another planet!

World Book Day
Fabulous outfits for World Book Day!
To show that it is possible to make a meal without using electricity, we made our own salad bar. Each group had a specific job as we worked together to make a healthy meal. Delicious!
We had pancakes with lemon and sugar or nutella to celebrate the big day!
Year 3/4 Indoor Athletics
Well done to our Year 3/4 athletes who won their indoor athletics heat at Lowton High School!
To protect against enemy invasion, we designed and made our own Roman shields.
To prove we can have fun without TV or our Playstation, we created our own board games along the 'Snakes and Ladders' idea!
We had a great day in the snow!

Year 4 were looking as trendy as ever on non-uniform day!
Well done to all of Year 4 for their amazing class assembly. A serious message was provided through our reality TV-themed assembly, along with great acting and singing!
Year 4's after school table tennis club ended with Liam and Preet being award Spirit of the Game wristbands for Determination and Respect, respectively.
After researching famous Spanish artist, Pablo Picasso, Year 4 went on to produce their own Picasso-style portraits!
DEWA Roman Experience
As a pre-learning task to our upcoming topic on The Romans, Year 4 took a trip to Chester to find out a little bit more about them!
Garden of Eden

In major cities, space to build is limited so buildings are often built upwards. We have built paper skyscrapers to see how difficult this can. The structures should have been 1m high and able to hold a small weight.
In science, Year 4 made working digestive models using containers, cartons and tubing.
Year 4 Football Team
