Virtual Sports Week
Due to COVID-19, we are unable to host our usual summer School Games Day. Instead, the staff at Gilded Hollins have organised a 'Virtual Sports Day' which will run from Monday 6th July to Friday 10th July. The primary focus of the week is mass participation, having fun and being as active as possible! 'Virtual Sports Week' includes a different daily challenge set through SeeSaw and Twitter whereby points can be scored: 5 points for a photo/SeeSaw post to show an attempt at a challenge and 10 points for a video showing an attempt at a challenge. On top of this, a further point will be awarded per 5 minutes that a child is active throughout the week. This activity could include walking, running, skipping, cycling, trampolining and/or playing a particular sport. Scores will be recorded daily and released the following morning along with the next challenge. Each class will compete against each other with the top 3 classes and top 3 individual boys and girls announced at the end of the week! Throughout the week, a number of videos of encouragement from sporting stars will be released to provide extra motivation. The staff are also entering a team so it's game on! Enjoy!
